On Aug 28th 2007 I had fallen while getting out of the bed of a truck. I was unloading wood with my husband. I was 45 at the time. I crushed my tibia plateau and broke my tibia. I had a plate and 6 screws put in on Sept 11, 2007. I had a long long recovery.
as I am still in recovery. Today is Oct 16, 2010. On July 1 2009 I had my knee scoped and scraped because of pain. On Jan 1 2010, I had the hardware removed because we thought it would relieve the pain. On April 15th 2010, I had a complete tkr and when they went into to do the tkr, they noticed that my mcl needed repaired. (noticed). I have more pain now than 6 months after the original surgery in Sept of 2007. I go back to the OS on November 9, 2010 to see how I am doing, which is sincerely getting worse each day, We will discuss reconstruction repair on the MCL again.
My question is…has anyone had to have mcl repair done during a tkr, when you did not even know that the mcl was damaged? I am very concerned. As I am not healing and need to know if I should seek another OS. I go to a very good Doctor at a Trauma Facility, not willing to give the hospital. Any info would be helpful. thank you.
